In [this post](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&postid=4045716#post4045716), **misstee** mentioned she’d like to go to the KC Zoo. Being the but-in that I am, I invited myself along. Now I’m asking everyone else to but-in, too - let’s _all_ go to the zoo! The date we’re looking at is Sunday, October 19th. Admission is $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for kids. Parking is free. Who wants to go? ---

Unfortunately, it looks like **Skip** and I (the official Party Poopers) are going to be up Topeka way this weekend. But be sure and get pictures if there’s anything spanky going on in the llama cage. ---

It closes at 4:00, and according to **misstee** it can take all day to see all of it. I’d suggest we get there not too long after opening time, between 9 and 10 am. I like to stop and say hi to my cousins every time I visit Monkey Island, but my real fascination lies with the BIG cats. I love to watch them feed, yawn, and ignore us just like their diminuitive brethren. I’d like to see **sperfur** try to give one of _those_ bad boys an enema. I’ll be depending on **Mirror Image** to instruct me in the Ways of the Llama. I hear they’re fascinating conversationists if you speak their language, not to mention their incredible ability to stop and stare for hours at a time. I won’t be hard to miss. I’ll be the one in the snakeskin boots, mink coat, and fox stole wearing a peacock feather in my hat. ---

I can try to make it back in town for it. And Im going to say it can take way beyond all day to see all of it (FYI I worked a joint class there with the museum). I think itd be best to pick an area or two and focus on that. Africa and Australia are both fun. And do the pictures still count if one of us are in them? Not me of course, but somone into that kind of thing… ---

Just remember this is going to be a family event. **Horsefoals** and **misskids** will be around. We have to find a way to distract the kids when the camera comes out near the llama cage. I was plotting this when I volunteered to bring “goodie” bags for the younguns. 😉 ---
