Is there a site (like the People Pages) that lists upcoming Dopefests? If not, would anyone like to see one (and yes, I’m volunteering to do it)? grem ---

Since I’ve been doing these Putz buttons I’ve been kind of keeping an eye out on the Dopefest announcements. My sense of it is that these things crop up, sometimes fizzle out, or they happen with very short notice. Whoever wants to keep a calendar is going to need to remind people to send info once the details gel. ---

There’s one this Saturday at Persephones’ (Cristi’s) house in Flint, Mich. I’m going to be there, so that **definitely** makes it the must-do event of the summer. ---

Baglady (she of the beautiful tattoos) Thanks for the advice! I was thinking of something database driven. People could submit/modify/delete their own as details change. What things would be most useful to all? Here’s what I’ve thought of so far: Visible on the calendar Date (obviously, it’s a calendar!) City Place (specific address or name of bar/hotel/etc) Organizer Link to SDMB thread (Does anyone know, is this cool?) Visible on the details page All of the above, plus directions map image? (not sure about this, space could be a problem) notes/comments list of attendees (my thinking is that people would handle this themselves, not the organizer) Whew! When you write down like that, it looks…scary. This may need to be rolled out in phases. grem ---

Great idea, Grem. And since it’s come up, I’d like to mention that the Bay Area dopers are invited to an improptu get together on Thursday the 10th (GaWd’s birthday) at the Great Mall Dave and Buster’s in Milpitas around 6 or so. In addition to that we have the more official (but also miniature) gathering on Thursday the 24th (also at D&B’s) honoring Hamadryad, who will be on the West coast for a wedding that weekend. Time is noonish, and anyone wanting details/directions can email me or dig up the old thread. 🙂 ---
