Me? Well **Skald** and I actually do PM back a forth, so that doesn’t count. (Sorry, man.) I wish I talked to **freakalette** more. I’ve noticed various other ‘y’ for ‘i’ usernames, I always think that’s cool.

Okay, crybaby mode alert! This is a bit of a downer for the majority of us who aren’t mentioned. And please don’t add me just because I’m posting this. It just feels kind of cliquish and high-school-popularity-contestish. I hope this doesn’t come across as threadshitting or “poor me,” just putting in my two cents. Boy, I sound like a pathetic whiner. I’m not having a very good day, though.
I know, I know, I, too, posted in this thread already, but then I started thinking about it (major mistake for me today!)

No-one likes me ☹
Well, I’m fortunate in that I get to meet a bunch of people this Saturday (some of whom were definitely on my “must meet” list).
Others include **Antinor01** due to our reciprocal doper-crush relationship, **Argent Towers** because he’s so god damn extreme (where is he at the moment anyway?), **Sampiro** as he’s trés funny, **WhyNot** as we seem to share some interests, and definitely the UK posse, especially **glee** , **GorillaMan** and **Chowder** (but not **Quartz** because he totally failed to mention me 😛 ).

I don’t think it is cliquish, I think is just a function of interaction. My list is extra long as I seem to be all over the place on the board plus there are three large active loose groups I interact with often. This is the social aspect of the board, but none of the various poorly defined groups are cliquish as that would imply exclusion. I don’t believe this board is at all exclusive. If you post often in an area, other posters will begin to notice you.
In fact I forgot several regular baseball posters that I look forward to reading like \*\*RickJay \*\*and others. No matter how exhaustive I try to be, I always forget posters.
See I recognize your name **Hazle Weatherfield** and I think I have liked some of your posts in some lighter political threads but I haven’t seen enough of your posts yet to have a better idea of who you are. But if it turned out you were a Baseball fan or Tolkien or Heinlein Fan or Green or Political junkie I know that most of the posters would welcome you and some would start to remember you. The same is true for the Knitters, the Mmp’ers, the American Idol Fans, Crafters, Gardeners etc.
I really believe **cliquish** implies exclusionary and I really honestly believe we do not have that on the SDMB.

I really don’t know what to say. I’m a Doper who never gets mentioned for anything and I honestly didn’t start this as some sort of ‘in crowd’ thing. It was a way to introduce myself (and others if they wanted, for lack of a better way to put it) to someone I thought seemed neat, but was too shy to PM privately. Seriously, I didn’t even think my lack of having my own name mentioned indicated that I was popular or anything. Just that this board is huge and it’s probably difficult to stand out unless your very unusual or highly prolific.
So please anyone, don’t take your not being listed as a bad thing. Remember that most members here won’t make it onto this undoubtedly short thread. I apologize if I’ve hurt anyone’s feelings. Please know though that I’m another one who welcomes any contact and that, in and of itself, was what this all was about.

Most of the people in this thread and mentioned in this thread. I would love to hang out in a bar with **Sampiro** in hope that some of his awesome English composition will rub off on me. Next time I visit Toronto I may go look up **Sunspace** , too, just for happy chatty lunch someplace.
I also want to meet **Der Trihs**. No, really. I want to sit with him and talk about sci-fi and Pratchett. 🙂 We disagree on a heck of a lot, but he actually reminds me of a very beloved old friend of mine whom long I have not seen and we had GREAT late night conversations together.

**What Exit** , some day I really need to come out from that rock which I call home if only to shake your hand. Thank you. Most people have me on ‘block’ or soon will, once they figure out how to use ‘block’. (“You mean, I can be rid of his posts? Hmm…that was easy.”)
Mental note: I promise to do the speed limit on 78 and be super courteous to more drivers on the off-chance **What Exit** may be one of them. I’d hate for us to finally meet and for you to say, “Hey! You’re that Ugly Jerk who cut me off in traffic 3 Aprils ago…!” 😃

I’ve always thought you were a very fun poster and can’t wait to hang out with you eventually.
Matter of fact, I’ve never regretted meeting dopers. **Twickster** was kind enough to show us around town when we happened to be in Philly, I’ve met more than a few local dopers and even got to welcome **cactus waltz** when he was visiting, what a blast!
