People I forgot the first time, or just remembered now, whichever is least offensive:
**Litoris** - Slightly cynical, very strong, funny, and not afraid to be proud of her family. Oh, and hot.
**Snakescatlady and VunderBob** : Hockey, beer and… well - hockey and beer.
**Lissla Lissar** : You’re always baking something I want.
**Anaamika** : Once and for all!
**Anyrose** : Smokey and Cuervo must meet.

Gosh, there are so many cool dopers! The list would be endless. Why do y’all think I’ve tried to start, not one, but TWO dopefests in my hometown Maastricht, eh?
But anyway, to name some names: I’d love it if **WhyNot** , **Shirley Ujest** , **featherlou** , **dangermom** , **fessie** , **Twickster, MandaJo** , **Marinee** and \*\*faithfool \*\*lived on my block (and not just my cyber neighborhood :). Then I could drop by, sit down at the kitchen table, and ask for wise advice and/or just have silly fun. **Featherlou** and **fessie** would give me no-nonsense advice, non sugar coated, but always spot on; and, from their posts, I feel I have a lot in common with both **Faithfoo** l and **Dung Beetle**.
As for the doper gentlemen, again too many to mention. I still hope that **Sunspace** finally manages to come to Holland. And I imagine hanging out with **Ianzin** or **Der Thris** , if a little intimidating (both have very low tolerances for nonsense) _very_ interesting.
But again, there’s so many more! Many Dopers that don’t post often have written posts that resonated with me; it’s just that it takes a while, and a LOT of posts, to start recognizing a certain name. That is not the same as a popularity contest.

With all this talk about meeting other Dopers, I’d like to give the shyer ones a word of encouragement. Jim and I have met a bunch of Dopers in a bunch of places now, and every time we’ve had a great time. If you get a chance to go to a Dopefest, GO! There’s a reason we all hang out here - it’s because we’re (mostly) compatible.

Indeed, it wasn’t until I got the nerve to go to a dopefest that I stopped lurking and started posting more, for better or worse.
They’re some of the coolest and funnest people I’ve ever met. Yes, I said “funnest.”

I should say I certainly enjoy all of the Britons on the board. So interested in american politics, yet somehow that idea gets associated with Monty Python. 🙂 **Quartz, Illuminatiprimus** and others - I definitely enjoy reading your posts do you ever have dopefests?
