I heard once upon a time, long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away… that there was a chat room around here? Where can I find it? ---

Not “around here” per se, but in IRC, #straightdope on undernet. Hopefully someone else can explain in a superior manner, because it’s been a while for me. ---

[http://www.undernet.org](http://www.undernet.org) Click on “webchat”, type in a nickname, click “connect”, and then, when you enter the chat, type “/join #straightdope” and there you’ll be. Or, you could just download mIRC at [http://www.mirc.com](http://www.mirc.com) and set it up from there. It’s a free download. ---

#straightdope is not affilated with The Straight Dope, The Chicago Reader, this board or its administration. #straightdope exists solely as an informal meeting place for people who enjoy this board to chat in real time, but has no association with this board itself. As such, any issues you may have with #straightdope or its participants ought to be addressed in channel rather than over here. Happy chatting and all that.
