I’ve gotten an anonymous email from the offender, apologizing and stating that it won’t happen again. This email was sent FROM the fake email address. The fake email address was [t\_homasd1@yahoo.com](mailto:t_homasd1@yahoo.com), as most of you already know. Modeled after **Abe Babe** ’s 2nd account as shown above. Is this enough to go on with the game? I’m not sure how much good it does as an _anonymous_ confession and apology. It does look like the shuffle and re-start idea has the most support. I could re-use the same country preferences and go to 2nd/3rd choices instead of 1st/2nd. Or you could all re-send new sets. Or my cat could pick all 7. He’s never had 7 treats in one day before, but he’s already pretty rotund so I’m sure he won’t mind. I’m sorry, everyone. It’s too bad that this happened, and I know some Dipping has been wasted. I’ll do what I can to get things back on track asap. ---

I’m all for restart and random countries, though I would like to ask that I not get France or Russia since I’m playing two games where I’m them already. Besides that random is just fine with me. ---

Omni, several people would be willing to play either of those countries. What about random countries, but allow the players a set period of time, such as a day, in which to trade. ---

Okay. If I have 7 sets of preferences (I think I had 3 this morning) when I get home from Thursday Night Darts tonight, I’ll do them then. If not, I’ll have the cat do them all. Just so there’s no waiting around. Anbody that had no preferences the first time around will be assumed to have none this time as well. If that’s not the case let me know. And that will be the end of it. And no more of this nonsense. ---

I like something along the lines of ‘Beta’ or ‘Redux’ to capture the spirit of this being the second attempt. Or you could simply name it after your cat if its random choice. ---

If I get new countries out tonight (say midnight Eastern), does anyone have a problem with Tuesday 10pm EST S01 deadline? Now that you’re all familiar with each other, if not your respective locales for 1099 v2.0, that should be ample time, if we don’t mind Dipping over the weekend and the holiday (I know we’ll all be _busy_ tomorrow evening). If there are problems with this let me know otherwise let it be done. ---

If you don’t like Bobble, and want to go with the three letter thing (-gry), we could do “Dud”. Or if you want ed to keep with the dope joke theme (again, -gry), you could name it this: "Three diplomats arrive in Switzerland. They look for the cheapest limo to rent. It was $1100 and they each pay $366.66. They get in the limo, and a few minutes later there is a knock on that partition thing between the driver and passengers. It’s the driver, obviously. One diplomat moves to the front of the limo (it’s really long). The driver says "Sorry, I forgot that in 1901 all limos are $1095, not $1100. He hands 5 one dollar bills to the diplomat who moved to the front, and the diplomat in turn tips the driver $2. He then gives the other two diplomats $1 and keeps $1 for himself. Now if each paid $366.66 and each got a $1 refund that means each person paid $365.66. $365.66 times the three of them equals $1097, ish. The driver got a two dollar tip. $1097 plus $2 equals $1099. What happened to the other dollar? ---

Okay fellas. I was missing a couple sets of prefs so I had the cat do it. Essentially I’m tired of the nonsense, and I know you’ve all been waiting. New set. Nobody did _too_ badly, with relation to the original prefs. Some better than others, as is to be expected from randomizing the process. Sorry to anybody that feels shafted by the reshuffling. Take it up with the one schmuck among you that screwed it up for us all the first time around. Despite some requests for leniency ( **Omni** ), I didn’t change the cat’s picks at all, but nobody should be too unhappy with them as they now stand. Nobody got the same Power they had in 1099 v 1.0. Unfortunately **Abe** somehow avoided landing Italy once again. Austria: **ppg\_shg** England: **Wikkit** France: **Jonathan Chance** Germany: **Omniscient** Italy: **Bibliovore** Russia: **tjblack** Turkey: **Abe Babe** Spring 1901 deadline set for Tuesday, February 18th, 10pm EST. Don’t be late. Orders won’t be edited except to correct for obvious typos, so get them right. No NMRs unless absolutely necessary. Any and all IN-GAME hijinks are permissible and welcomed. Bullshit like what we’ve seen so far is neither. If you have a question about whether something’s kosher, ask me first. If there’s something I haven’t covered in the ground rules, ask me first. I’ll send out an email with country assignments momentarily, to the list I’ve currently got. I would ask that _every player send me a list of either one or two email addresses that will be used for this game_, from an address that I already have associated with your SDMB screen name. I will circulate this list of acceptable email addresses among the players. Do not read any messages associated with this game that are addressed from any other accounts; no messages associated with this game addressed from any account not on the list will be read by me.
