I want to buy this stuff because it has a very comfortable spray feature. A nice smooth mist that isn’t too wet or cold. The problem is that I think it is too cheesy because of all those commercials promising me that their product will attract hordes of females. Ladies, what do you think? ---

I sprayed every Axe scent and couldn’t find one I’d like to smell on a guy. I really think they smell like crap. ---

I think it depends on how much they use. My boyfriend uses Axe and it’s just a faint “manly deodorant” scent on him. But he uses it as a _deodorant_ (i.e. on armpits only), rather than a cologne or a… _shudder_ shower substitute. I hardly even notice it at all to be honest. Just smells like men’s deodorant on him. ---

I don’t know how much the guys I’ve smelled it on have used, and my husband doesn’t wear it… _but_, the guys I _have_ smelled it on? _Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-Yooooooooooo_! :eek: ---

The problem with Axe and the like is that it’s advertised as a body spray. Having watched my little brother, who is a fairly intelligent dude, apply the stuff, this probably gets equated to covering one’s entire body with the pungent stuff, thereby producing an “Axe Effect” of bowling people over from a distance of 100 feet away. Anyways, I actually like the scent of the Tsunami (I think) Axe and Phoenix Axe. However, I also don’t like to smell them 15 feet away from someone when it doesn’t blent with their natural scent. Like all things, in moderation. And do note that Axe is a very distinctive scent: People will know that you paid $4.95 for your aerosol-delivered cologne. ---

Nothing much to say except that we call this stuff [Lynx](http://www.unilever.co.uk/ourbrands/personalcare/lynx.asp) in the UK (sadly, I think we invented it before rebranding it with a simpler name for our American friends), but it’s marketed in exactly the same way. I’m sure it’s okay stuff as far as mass produced male body sprays go, but I wouldn’t wear it (preferring a lightly scented roll-on deodorant and a spray of Issey pour Homme) not least due to the piss that would be ripped if anyone ever found out. I’ve been using it and liked it myself _despite_ the commercials, but my SO has made it known very clearly that she thinks it’s disgusting. She way prefers my natural smell, so I stick to that and a very nice aftershave she’s given me just a few days ago. ---

I thought I liked the Axe scent “Voodoo”, so I bought a can. I used it ocassionally and GrizzWife mentioned “why do YOU smell so good today” when I did. Cool…or at least, that’s what I told myself until a few weeks ago. I was at a local discount store in the checkout line. The fella in front of me had amongst his items a can of Axe Voodoo. The clerk held it up and remarked to the customer “Dis shit smell goooooooo-oooood!” I’ll add the clerk was a bit unkempt and … uh… well, I guess “reeked of body odor” is a bit too strong a term. Standing in his presence was markedly less than pleasant. Ever since, my mostly-full can of Axe sits on my dresser… collecting dust. ---

I, personally, think it’s one of the lesser incarnations of pure evil. But then again, I feel that way about virtually every scent product known to man and womankind. YMMV. As a general rule of thumb, if I can smell you from farther away than in actual physical contact, your chances of my getting close enough for actual physical contact are vastly reduced. ---

I would think you are between the ages of 12 and 19. I see it as a teenager thing to wear, not an adult product. Picture a CEO or professional over 30 and tell me if you think they wear Tag. ---

Watching those Axe commercials, I shared with my husband the time I was walking through the mall and caught a whiff of what smelled like concentrated mancandy and followed my nose until I had hunted down the source. My husband wears that scent now so I don’t get lured away. But it’s not Axe. ---

To me, it smells just like spray deodorant – it doesn’t smell bad, really, it just has that ‘spray’ smell. Sort of… aerosoly? aerosolish? Whatever – it smells like somebody couldn’t find his cologne, so he just squirted his whole body down with his Arrid Extra-Dry. A squirt or two under the arms would be OK, I guess, if the dude in question had a light day planned (it isn’t anti-perspirant is it?), but spraying it all over just seems wrong. ---

Another vote against the body spray. From what I’ve smelled in the store, they’re pretty foul. Plus, I’d guess it takes more spray to get the same concentration of smell you could get from a small amount of a higher-end cologne. I don’t like a lot of smell on my guy anyway. A little is nice, but more than one squirt of cologne is generally too much, especially if you’re going to be close to a person. A lot of colognes smell nice, but NO cologne (or women’s perfume) smells good in excess. If you’re looking to save money, you’d probably do better to just spend the money on a good cologne from a department store or something, and use small amounts. Even small bottles can last months, especially if you don’t wear it every day, and you really only need one spray of that stuff. ---

I think if you’re under 23 or so, you could probably get away with just a small spray of the stuff. Otherwise, invest in a nice cologne. My boys (18 and 14) wear it, and I personally can’t stand it. They overdo it no matter how many times I try to explain less is more. ---

While I don’t think that Axe or Tag smell bad, I actually kind of like Axe’s Kilo scent, it’s NOT cologne so please DO NOT use it as such. It is meant to be sprayed in the armpit area, not over your whole body. I much prefer a guy wearing a regular old stick deoderant that smells clean and a good cologne…like Chrome or something.
