This has probably been asked and answered, but my Search-fu is weak today. Without (re-)opening any controversies, which Dopers have died? I know there are more, but right now I can only think of: Persephone poohpah chalupa Padeye ---

While I don’t think anyone ever made an announcement, sadly I think we’ve also lost the poster **indecisive1** since she stopped posting shortly after her comments in [in this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=8663124&postcount=15). ☹ ---

I remembered her posts, and did a cursory google on her email early this summer, wondering what had happened. There was a fund raiser for her in June, or July, somewhere in there. I know another poster, who has met her, talked to her this fall, but I am not sure what is going on now. He hadn’t really been very active on the board, but [Dirty Devil](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php?userid=1909) passed away in Sept. 2003. He was my husband’s best friend and an all around good guy. And [Ayesha](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php) passed away recently. ---

There was a guy up in the PNW somewhere, my age – and I can’t think of his name and it’s driving me crazy. It had “elf” in it, but “elf” was a reference to the German word for “eleven,” not to the spritely creature. Anyway, he died sometime fairly recently. ---

Right, just an acquaintance of a mod. And since I think there’s not much more to add to this thread, I would just one more anecdote about WallyM7. Some time after the “demise” of WallyM7 (months, perhaps a year), a new poster named (I, think) “wally” signed up with one of those “Hi, I’m new here” posts. One of the first responses was by a former mod, who said (and the visual I got was of a small, frustrated, angry child, eyes about tear, and mouth tightly contorted), ‘You better change your name! That is too close to a board member who recently died, and we thought a lot about him.’ That thread is gone, and has been for some time. Perhaps “wally” was a sock, or just a drive-by board member. I don’t have any reason that it had any connection to WallyM7, other than he was fishing for a reaction. I don’t think the choice of name, and the introductory thread was coincidental. ---
