Renee. I used to hate it, but now I’m mearly ambivalent about it. It doesn’t flow well with my first name though so I never use it. Oh, and my siblings’ middle names also begin with R: Rae, Richard, Robin, and Robert. ---

Ellen. It’s a family thing going back 5 or 6 generations. There’s a cameo that goes with it, too. But it’s not a typical lady-in-profile cameo - it’s a coastal scene. ---

Albert. It’s my father’s name, but he goes by his middle name, which is Chester. He got it from my Polish-born grandfather, who was named Wojciech, which translates as Albert. To the Poles he knew, he went by Wojciech; to the Americans he knew, he went by Albert; to the Italians he knew, he went by Alberto. He was friendly enough with the local Italian immigrants to earn membership in the local Sons of Garibaldi chapter even though he wasn’t Italian, but I guess I’m getting off subject here. I have the same middle name as Cole Porter and Frank Sinatra, so I guess I rock, or something. ---

Another Dawn. Not sure if it was due to a fad or not. I didn’t even know that was a fad at some point! If you don’t mind, I’ll share some of the family middle names. For girls: Denise, Rose, Dunbar, Gail, Nell, Louise and Rhea For boys: Randolph, Lee, Nathan (three of 'em) and Lindsey. The next will be Angel. ---

Williams It’s my mother’s maiden name, which she’s used as her middle name since she got married because she hated her original middle name. It’s also my sister’s middle name. –Cliffy ---

I am a boring John. My friends family is all PJ’s. They found something they liked and ran with it. Paul James Peter James Philip James Patrick James There is now Paul James the 3rd and Phil and Pat Jr’s. Last count there were 11 PJ’s. ---

Wow, I was expecting a lot more Anns. As it is, it looks like there’re only a couple of us so far. It’s not an exciting middle name, but I guess it’s not as common as I’d thought! ---

It seemed that most of the girls’ middle names were either Ann, Marie, Renée or Lynn. I don’t know why. Those in my class were either born in 1968 or 1969, and we were in a small town in western Pennsylvania, if that helps with nailing down any patterns. My mother’s middle name is Mae, which I figured would be more common than it is. ---
