Doper names make me think of different things, often set to music. **FairyChatMom** … and I don’t care! **Big Bad Voodoo Lou** … Baddest man in the whole damned crew! (The late) **Poopah Chalupa** : Well, I’ll sing you to sleep, **PoopahChalupa** … **Biffy the Elephant Shrew** … Hung out with a fellow named drew… **Annie-Xmas** … **Annie-Xmas**. Xmas comes each time this year… Or not set to music. **Regallag\_The\_Axe**. I read this as _Regailing_\_The\_Axe. I see a guy telling stories to an axe. **Large Marge**. Naturally, I think of that scene where Large Marge gets all gross in _Pee Wee’s Big Adventure_. **Shagnasty**. I always want to pronounce it ‘Shaughnessy’. **dolphinboy** reminds me of Juliet Lewis. She has a large forehead that reminds me of a dolphin, so I call her ‘Dolphin-haid’. **Futile Gesture**. Sounds like _Feudal_ Gesture. I picture a peasant giving twos-up. ---

**fetus** honey, I’m sorry, but your name has a derogitory meaning to me. See, in high school we had this term we used, that term being fetus. We used the term to describe girls who couldn’t dress themselves, had bad personalities and always seemed to be groping (or being groped by) the older boys in the stairwell. So, your name reminds me of over-sexed 13-year-olds :o **Ichini Sanshigo** reminds me of the anime Hanuaukyo Maids, which had triplets named (I believe) Ichi-go, Ni-go and San-go. I also noticed a poster the other day named **theLaughingMan** , which I assume is a reference to the Ghost in the Shell series (looking at his join date, I’m not sure if it is or just a coincidence). At any rate, that’s what it reminds me of. ---

**Mr. Blue Sky** makes me think of Colorado. **Tracy Lord** always makes me think of porn. **Pinkfreud** = Pink Floyd **Johnny L.A.** makes me think of Johnny Rotten, and I have no idea why. **Larry Mudd** ’s name reminds me of a television anchorman in California years ago (perhaps he’s still on air? Come to think of it, it may have been **Roger** Mudd. Nevermind. 😃 **Shirley Ujest** reminds me of Airplane! (And stop calling me Shirley.) **Marley23** = Bob, of course. **Shagnasty** ’s name always makes me think of sex. Whenever I see **Wesley Clark** ’s name, I always picture [this guy](http://peacecorpsonline.org/messages/imagefolder/wesleyclarkaa.jpg). ---

At any rate, that’s what it reminds me of. I noticed this poster recently, as well, and I immediately thought of the story by J.D. Salinger, _The Laughing Man_, from Nine Stories. When I saw his name, I pictured a frightening looking fellow in a poppy mask who hung out with a wolf with a white hind foot. The word “Comanches” floats in my mind, too. **Johnny L.A.** makes me think of flying in a helicopter. It has nothing to do with the name specifically, though, just that I think it’s cool. **Inigo Montoya** - could there be any other association? **Shirley Ujest** - one of my old co-workers was named Shirley. She was loud and _hilarious_. Could grate on your nerves sometimes, but she was ultimately a lot of fun. **Snakescatlady** - I think of this beautiful lady snakecharmer, with cats coming out f the basket. **Roland Orzabal** - "_If I care for nothing/Sun don’t shine and the grass don’t grow/Bloodletting go…"_ **Mr. Blue Sky** - I start hearing that familiar “bomp bomp bomp bomp” of the beginning of the ELO song of the same name. \*\*cckerberos \*\* - I think of my youngest cat, who is named after Keroberos from Card Captor Sakura. \*\*Anaamika \*\* - I think of the Singing Nun: “_Dominique, -nique, -nique_!” \*\*Sampiro \*\* - I just get excited. I see that name and I just know I’m going to smile. If anyone else ever used that name somewhere else, they’d damn well better be ready to have me pull up a chair, ready to listen to a most entertaining story (that must branch off on many tangents, leaving us all hanging, so we might beg for more later). I’m certain it’s a name I’ve been mispronouncing forever, as well. My brain still says “Sampeero” while my mouth says “Sampiro”. **TubaDiva** - As I mentioned in the past, I have been mispronouncing this name for years, as well. And so, I always picture a\* diver\*, underwater, holding a tuba. I still haven’t quite managed to train my mouth to say “_diva_” aftet “tuba” at this time. I’m trying. ---

Wow, I would have thought no one would have come up with something for my name. Cool! \*\*Mr. Bus Guy \*\* always makes me think of the old crabby guy. “Hey YOU KIDS!” Selkie (sp?) always makes me think of the evil char from Baldur’s Gate, but [selkies](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selkie) are actually mythical sea creatures. Haven’t really given too much thought to all of the creative names on this board, but I will say that I have an online friend elsewhere who has always “translated” my name as “ass is a-movin” – a moniker I’m not in any hurry to, well, shake. _I’m so very sorry._ ---
