The only one Im a member of at the moment is the FSAE team at my college. Im in charge of the cost report and any other little odditites the business manager hands over to me, but Im mostly invovled to learn more about cars and automotive engineering. ---

I used to be a member of a Canadian local of the American Federation of Musicians, but I haven’t performed in quite some time, nor at all in this country, so I let my membership lapse. Currently, I don’t belong to any organizations. ---

The National Rifle Association. I’ll make that a lifetime membership one of these days when I’m flush. The Farm Bureau. The American Waterworks Association. I think that’s it, if I don’t count AAA, which, since I’ve never used it, I don’t. ---

Alcoholics Anonymous is my main one. I was also a Girl Scout back in the day. There are several I have supported with my time and/or money in the past- Make A Wish Miracle Ranch Orphanage Sea Shepard Earth First! Team Up for Down Syndrome USO Negro Leagues Baseball Museum Amnesty International The United Methodist Church That’s all I can think of at the moment. ---

Currently I am a member of: American Society for Enology and Viticulture Society of Wine Educators Women for WineSense Free The Grapes Both my husband and I are members of: Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition Santa Rosa Cycling Club American Hombrewers Association Not sure how or if it counts, but we are dedicated every-8-week whole blood donors at Blood Bank of the Redwoods, we’re each getting close to the 2 gallon mark. And we’re former members of the US Power Squadrons. I know my husband is a member of the ACLU, as well as a few other organizations, most of them pertaining to his field, but I couldn’t tell you what they are because I just don’t know. ---

Technically I’m a “card-carrying member of the ACLU”. But all I did was make a donation. I’ve given donations to other groups that probably now call me a “member.” But I don’t think of that is being a part of an organization so much as being the target of a marketing technique. ---

I’m on the City Council, which will make my obit sound like I was a civic-minded. I just joined (paid a membership fee) to the AARP, but I don’t know why. I haven’t investigated the benefits of membership yet. When I lived in Seattle I was on the local library board and the board of directors of a child care organization (Seattle Day Nursery it was called then), and was secretary of a community council. ---

I’m a member of [Toastmasters International](http://www.toastmasters.org/) (club founder and past president, and past area governor) and the [Society for Technical Communication](http://www.stc.org/) (haven’t so much as gone to a conference in about 2 years). That’s it – no religion, no political party, nothing else. I’ll probably join the [HRC](http://www.hrc.org/) and [ACLU](http://www.aclu.org/) someday, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I do have a nifty HRC polo shirt, though. 😃 ---

American Library Association Association of College and Research Libraries Academic Library Association of Ohio Institute of Internal Auditors I don’t attend church, so no organizations there, I don’t have kids, so no PTA/PTSA organizations…basically, right now it’s professional orgs only, but that could change before too long. ---

My church, my university’s alumni association, DeMolay, Knighthood, US Navy Fleet Reserve. Only one of those costs me money and one of those gets me money. ---

The Humane Society, though my membership has probably lapsed by now. I also get [The Satellite News](http://www.mst3kinfo.com/) in the mail, does that count? They haven’t sent me a membership card or a decoder ring, or anything. ---
