7 in the little under four years since my first time. So, a bit under 2 a year, which is looking pretty average so far. Being average is, however, of little consolation when there’s been only one encounter in the seven months since my ex decided to move as far away as possible without leaving the country. ---

I’m going to count anything that involved intercourse or mutual oral (one-way is just “getting a blowjob,” not sex, to me) Lost my virginity 8.5 years ago, and have been with 14 women in that time (oh, the torture that was the Dec. '98-March '01 dry spell!!). But I’m actually just going to say 7 years, b/c I’ve been with my girlfriend for a year and a half. So that comes out to 2 women per year. Considering there were a few 3 month relationships in there, that’s not so bad. It took me forever to go from No. 1 to No. 2, but after that it’s a pretty good clip. ---

I, for one, am thoroughly disappointed in this thread. I opened it because it was titled “Doper Sex Thread”, and as far as I can tell there are no Dopers actively having sex within the parameters of the thread. Le sigh. ---

My last semi-serious girlfriend was the first partner I slept with enough to actually lose count of the number of times we did it. Our first night together was my first in some time, and we did “it” four times. After that, it was anywhere from one to three times a week. We usually couldn’t go more than 3-4 days without seeing each other. Where’s she now? Alas, there wasn’t much besides the sex to keep us together. ☹ To answer the OP’s question, I’m looking at about 20 women in the last 8 years, so 2.5 a year. Whoops, forgot to answer the OP. Over the last three years? Only about 5 times, and that was almost 2 and a half years ago with my ex, with whom I’d “gone steady” for 7 years prior to that, during which we had sex about 3-5 times per week. Before dating him, I was single for about 3 years (hmm, something about the number 3 and me), so a big ole zero then also. Prior to that 2 long term cohabiting relationships for 3-5 years each and an average of 3 times per week. Before those 2 I was single for several years during my early to mid 20s, had a few one night stands (UGH hated them, that’s why I don’t do that now). So only 3 separate instances then. Was married from 19-21, and he was more interested in pot than sex, so probably an average of once a month, if that. One cohabitation with a wild musician prior to meeting husband, average 10 or more times per week (what? We were young!). HS sweetheart only a few times, we were young and SCARED and very careful. And I’m very bad at math, so you’ll have to do the averaging on all that! 😃 ---
