I remember you from other threads on chess; you should _definitely_ participate. I’d recommend that were such a situation to occur, we have an alternate person make the draw. You will no doubt immediately recognize when there is a potential conflict, and can thus ask the alternate to do it. Preferably, somebody that will agree to do it now that will not likely go very far. I don’t really want to do it, but if nobody else steps forward, you can look to me in a pinch.
As for my info, I’ve never been ranked in any way by any body, IRL or online. I learned as a young’un how to play, and occasionally go on yearlong jags where I’ll play several times per week against friends and family.
Without fail, I get _significantly_ better within a few weeks, then better still after a couple months, but in the beginning I’m usually pretty bad. I haven’t played in a couple years. I don’t know what that’s worth, but that’s all the info I can give you for ranking purposes.

I made myself a new Yahoo account, and verified I could get into Yahoo games and play chess. I won my test game, so I now have a Yahoo ranking of 1215.
I guess my machine no longer has a problem with aplets.
