i had an epiphany this afternoon. šŸ˜› as a result, i just got off the phone with the dive master, having officially - and primly - informed him that he has finally and completely corrupted the sweet young thing i was, once full of good, solid, presbyterian, down-home, midwestern values. to wit: for quite some time, iā€™ve been having trouble sleeping well at home in my own comfy, king-sized bed. imagine my confusion and **concern**! :dubious: why the hell was i having such difficulty sleeping thru the night? 7 am comes damn early when youā€™re looking at the clock and itā€™s telling you itā€™s 3, 4, 5, 6 am, and youā€™re not getting any rest! iā€™m sleeping just fine at his place, so whatā€™s the deal?? at last, in desperation (this has been going on for months, mind you, maybe years?? iā€™m not so bright at times šŸ˜› ) with bags under my eyes the size of texas - i could pack for the entire ncaa basketball schedule under there - i made a momentous decision. oh, hell. Why not? it was worth a try, since i was going to change the sheets the next evening anyway. why not try it in the altogether?? :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: okay. i know what youā€™re all thinkinā€™. work with me, here. you gotta understand a few things: sleep in the RAW? IN \*MY \* FAMILY?? such things ARE NOT DONE! šŸ˜ƒ this is all fine for me at the dive masterā€™s abode, mind you. heā€™s laid back about such things and i picked that up from him a long time ago. sleeping in the nude at his place is just fine, okay, no prob. comfy, even. but to do that AT MY PLACE??? horrors! the shock of it all! nice girls donā€™t do such things as that! _sleep in the nude in your own home?_ whatā€™s the world coming to??? yeah. all that. whatever. :rolleyes: completely flouting convention and everything iā€™d ever been taught about being a good girl with good morals, i tossed every scrap of that out the window, crawled into my own king-sized bed monday night ā€“ sans nightwear ā€“ and zonked out cold for somewhere in the neighborhood of eight full hours. and again on tuesday night. _hmmm,_ i thought. _methinks there is something to this!_ after being informed of my recent activities, the dive master (while busily snorting with laughter) promptly told me i had, and i quote, ā€˜you have \*\*way \*\* too much time on your hands!ā€™ never mind that right now. iā€™ve learned something about myself. the last two nights have beenā€¦ enlightening. so, fellow dopers, i put it to you: nnaked, or nightwear? šŸ˜ƒ ---

naked always. MAYBE a super comfy sleep shirt if it is really cold but even that affects the quality of snoozinā€™ ---

I havenā€™t worn anything to bed but skin for thirty years. If I tried to wear pajamas or something now, itā€™d keep me awake all night. ---

This will seem counterintuitive, but trust me: I used to sleep sans loincloth (or contemporary substitute) for _years_. And then the girlfriend, now fiancee, moved in and I didnā€™t want to freak her out alla time. Iā€™ve gotten used to sleeping in boxers or shorts again. Almost always nude. The only time I donā€™t is if I fall asleep accidentally. If that happens, as soon as I wake back up, even momentarily, the clothes come off. ---

Usually in briefs, nothing else. Sometimes nude, but not often. I have my reasons, though. I find that Iā€™m more comfortable when I have eliminated the possibility of rolling over and squishing the family jewels in the middle of the night, which I have done inadvertently in the past. This is not to say Iā€™m hung like King Kong or anything, itā€™s just that the dangly bits tend to dangle the wrong direction and I toss and turn a lot. The laws of chance catch up with me all too often for comfort! But a shirt, or pajamas? No way! Iā€™d get all tangled up in those and Iā€™d never get any sleep. ---

I need jammies. Iā€™m most comfortable in a t-shirt or tank, and boxers or flannel pants, all depending on the weather. I donā€™t like being naked, really, except for showers and sex. Hell, I hate going _barefoot_. I doubt Iā€™ll ever have a good naked nightā€™s sleep. ---

Naked, except for reasons already stated above: itā€™s too cold, I have guests, or I am a guest. I knew a woman who slept in her bra. In her BRA! I could never understand that, considering that my bra comes off as soon as I walk in the door from work! ---

I sleep in a tee shirt right now but as soon as it warms up a little, itā€™s nekkid all the way, baby! Iā€™ve been sleeping much better since I started using earplugs. I originally got them a few months ago to block out my upstairs neighbor and his friends when they came home from hanging out at the bar. I wish Iā€™d started wearing them sooner because I never have insomnia anymore. Now I sleep blissfully all night long and actually feel ready to get out of bed and do stuff when I wake up in the morning. ---

Naked. If I have to sleep in clothes (as a guest in someoneā€™s house, sharing a hotel room, etc.) I usually just fall asleep in whatever I was wearing that day. If I have to take off clothes to put on clothes just to go to bed, I get irritable. That having been said, Iā€™ll pretend that Iā€™m a good olā€™ pajama-loving person if Iā€™m bunking with someone who isnā€™t (or shouldnā€™t be) aware of my normal slumber habits. Just grin and bear itā€¦ rather, keep on smiling, but keep it covered. ---
