My sweet quiet little old lady bird (cockatiel) died recently. She was very old and starting to get really quite frail, so it wasn’t unexpected, but as with all pets it was like “not THAT soon…jeez”. My “baby” (really no longer a baby, she’s 2 and a half), needed a new roomie, so I got her a friend this weekend. A pretty piebald Cockatiel. I just can’t go on calling him “newbie”. So, I turn to you Dopers, I know you all have wonderful imaginations and that there are a lot of pet lovers among you. Thanks in Advance! ---

Yeah, cockatiels can really be such agreeable members of the family. Condoelces. I was going to suggest Patches, but Piper is pretty good; I’m a sucker for a pun. ---

I need a name for a Nanday conure I just acquired. I was leaning toward Screech because that’s what they do but that brings up images of the Saved By The Bell guy. ---
