I tried reading a couple of the shadow boards a few times but I found them sad and depressing. So the fact that someone is calling members of the main board “Derpers” doesn’t really bother me. ---

Wait, there’s another board that is dedicated to making fun of this one? Are you for real? I mean, I was aware that several current/former dopers made their own boards, but I guess I thought they just wanted to do their own thing, not exist to mock the dope. ---

I just think “Derper” sounds dumb. Though someone who hasn’t heard of the Straight Dope would probably think “Doper” is insulting. 😛 ---

I’ve been a reader of this board for about 9 years and a registered guest for about 3 or 4. I read the 'raffe and snacker boards too. I’ve even been a snack target a time or two but honestly I don’t even register being referred to as a durper. Maybe I self identify as a doper less than than many here.
