Can I make a suggestion: try narrowcasting. It’s true that the big sites may have hundreds if not thousands of members in your area, but what percentage of those are truly compatible? You’ll have to wade through tons of frogs (and scammers, and creeps, and etc.) before you find someone who’s the real deal. But there’s plenty of specialized dating sites, for environmentalists, geeks, and whatever other subgroup you want to name probably. Join a site which fits into your interests in other words. ---

I realize that a disproportionate number of the people on this board are atheists; however if you’re not… I met my wife at [CatholicSingles.com](http://CatholicSingles.com). If you’re Jewish there’s [JDate.com](http://JDate.com). I’m sure there are other theistic sites like that if that’s something that’s important to you. ---

I’m always surprised when I email someone and they don’t even look at my profile.\* I never thought that they might just be tossing it out with the other trash. \*Of course there are plenty of people who have emailed me and I haven’t looked at their profile because I remember looking at it another time and didn’t care for it then.
