Carson Coffee, Coffee on Main just off the top of my head. and more Dutch Brothers all the time. AND Starbucks.
I sincerely doubt Reno has none. :dubious:

Yeah, I think it’s primarily a PEN thing. None I know of in Chicagoland.
Madison, WI – One here (“MOKA”).
There are a few places that have a token drive-up window that gets 1% as much business as the interior counter.
MOKA opened a few years ago on the main drag into downtown, and does 95% of its business at their drive-up.
Apparently there’s one in the Chicago area. Look at the picture - that’s what the OP is talking about, not the Starbucks drive-thru.
Is it still there? I noticed the article you linked is from 2009.
No idea - I found the article when I was looking for a photo of a coffee shanty to show what I thought you were talking about. (I was right about that, wasn’t I?)
According to Yelp, it’s closed.
One near where we live, but they are by no means common. Starbux- now those are common.
I lived in L.A. until 12/2003. When I visited Bellingham, the number of drive-through coffee kiosks was remarkable. Back in L.A., I don’t think I ever saw one. Of course that was 14 years ago.
To better get at what the OP is after, I think, we might try mapping the area within which “espresso” just means “coffee,” rather than meaning, you know, “espresso.”
I live in Wisconsin, which is just barely close enough to the Northwest to have a few places that claim to have “espresso,” but really just have coffee.
Having been disappointed a couple times, I’m now more wary.
