Slight hijack of my own thread but, even though I’m not familiar with Jeff Buckley’s work (unless I’ve heard his songs and didn’t know it was him), I keep seeing his name pop up often enough that I thought he was alive.[/hijack]
So, MJ might be joining the likes of Buckley and Tupac. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am.

Sadly I think you’re going to have to pray someone else megafamous dies to wipe it off the front page. Queen Elizabeth is your closest option at the moment, but considering she’s ‘only’ 83 and her mother lived until about 102, you might have 20 odd years to wait.
I can see it now; CNN: “We have breaking news. After 20 years of being the 24 hour a day Michael Jackson channel, we’re now the 24 hour a day Queen Elizabeth channel.”
Actually I just now realized he was dead. I’m sure I’ve been told he was dead, but it just didn’t take.
Michael is a thousand times more famous than Anna Nicole Smith and it took about a year for all her media hype to die down. We’ll be hearing about him for quite some time but here’s hoping he will stop being the top news story soon.

Michael is going to be the next dead Elvis, he will never really go away. People will be reporting seeing him working in a 7-11 in some small Kansas town in no time. Even I saw a possible Elvis in a Sam’s Club Warehouse store. I would have been more convinced if he was buying a massive jar of peanut butter and a huge bunch of bananas.
