[This thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=299134) got me wondering about which dopers personally know other dopers. Not the ‘I know him/her because we met on the boards’, but people that were actually aquaintances/friends/relatives before joining SDMB. Or are there any people who went,“Huh! Fancy meeting you here. Who’d have thought??” And in case anyone is wondering how I found the above-mentioned thread, its how I find everything else on the net - by searching for porn. It’s good to know that the SDMB is as full of smut as every other place on the net. It’s also good to know there are girls who enjoy porn (and Anaamika is Indian at that!!!) ROWRRRRR - How _you_ doing? My girlfriend has ever watched only one porn movie and that was through her fingers as if she were watching a horror flick. To be fair to her it was a ‘Blacks on Blondes’ type of thing and for an Indian girl that must have seemed like two aliens were going at it with each other (no offense to any race). She declared after watching that movie that she never wanted to have sex (we hadn’t until then)…boy it felt as if she had punched me in the gut. Am I glad she changed her mind… Geez, talk abt MPSIMS…that was more rambling than I have ever managed in my life. Back to my question. Dopers - chime in. Note to mod: No clue where this thread should be placed, but this seems like a cozy little place. ---

I have 1 real life friend that reads/posts to the SDMB. I find this place first, showed it to him, and he curses me out about it every once in a while. Actually, knowing that he is out there reading this has kept me from posting info that is “better off unposted in the first place”, more then once. 😃 ---

I’ve made a few friends here, but can’t seem to get any of my real-life circle to understand the awesomeness that is the Dope. If there’s a particularly funny or poignant thread I’ll share it with a friend or relative, we’ll have the conversation and pfft, it’s done. Most of them don’t get the whole message board culture and those that do halfway get it are intimidated by the size and higher level of discourse here. Still, it has it’s advantages, I get to freely cop all the great lines from here and no one calls me on it. 😃 ---

I’ve known **Sunspace** for about ten years now (jeez, has it been that long?). We worked at the same company for a number of years. Now we still keep in touch, and usually manage to get together to catch up if either one of us is in the other’s town. Kind of interesting to open a thread, read the first few posts, find myself wondering what Sunspace would think of this topic, and then read a post from him further down the page. Usually, it states just what I was thinking he’d be thinking. That’s somehow scary. ---

Yes, I do love porn, and I mentioned in another thread that I not only gave my boyfriend a subscription to TeenCrush on his birthday, but there was porn under my Christmas tree, too. (DVDs). I’ve tried on numerous occasions to get my IRL friends interested in the Dope but no luck. They all have a smartassy sense of humor that would fit it well here but they just don’t “get it”. ---
