**Unclviny** already mentioned our connection, and I continue to slave for the same outfit as **Tapioca Dextrin**. In addition, a relative (who lives in Australia) of my sister’s boyfriend apparently is an avid Doper, although I don’t that worthy’s handle. Porn? What is that, exactly? Is it interesting? ---

I find out occasionally that a friend reads the Dope, but I have yet to find a friend that posts. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually. I’ve met a few Dopers, like 3-4. I hope to meet more, some day, when someone ELSE hosts a Dopefest in my neck of the woods. ---

**hardcore** is my dad; I blame him for my ever coming here. I got **FinnAgain** , my then-roommate, to join after MONTHS of prodding and being right and him not admitting it. of course, he’s posted orders of magnitude more than I ever will, and he’s busy converting people ( **Lunarnoodle** , for one) now too! 😃 ---

Most of my IRL friends are little interested in the internet to start with. Strange, because they’re mostly all online but they don’t use it as a social tool. Quite a few of them would make great Dopers, but I’d never be able to drag them in the door here. They just don’t understamd the attraction, I have given up trying to explain it, and I’m not sure I want real life friends here anyway. It’d almost be incestuous in some weird way. Meeting people I knew here first is fine, but not the other way. ---

Considering there are only some 2500 subscribers, quite a few people know other dopers in real life. I don’t remember which thread I read the number of subscribers to the board. Methinks I’ll do a search. Anyone have any clue to the exact number? ---

I was introduced to the dope by **Velma** who has been a friend of mine for about 13 years. She was talking about it one night and I checked it out when I got home.
