By and large even calling them fantasies is a stretch though, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that made me think " wow, this person is mentally Ill and needs help , they sit around fantasizing about killing people" It’s all ideological or expressive or hypothetical. Though many would probably elicit wasteful police visits if they were Twitter posts. ---

Yep – I agree with you and also suspect (and hope) that it’s just hyperbole, even if the person saying it doesn’t realize it is. That is to say, they wouldn’t actually be capable of committing murder IRL. But that’s part of why the “save your child” thread was disturbing; so many people were claiming to not even know what’s disturbing about sacrificing millions of innocents to save one child. It implies a completely alien sense of morality. ---

It implies a completely alien sense of morality. Wouldn’t be capable of murder, I’d agree. Would be reluctant but still kill, not so much. Bear in mind some people here have killed, in the military. So in the sense of if there was actually a war, I have no doubt many would …the likely hood of some civil war scenario though is basically nil. I doubt anyone mentioning it wishes for it. I can’t imagine the difficulties and disconnect it took to actually kill your own people in the actual civil war, especially just to show the mindset, in the beginning pow camps were basically open and the pows would actually just run away, spend a night out on the local town and then go back. ---

Doesn’t have to be about killing people, and he doesn’t have be have a _good_ rebuttal - he just has to score argument points. Things he has no answer to he carefully ignores - selectively trimming his quotes as needed. Which is needed a lot - the fucker chopped one of my posts off at six words and then claimed that the rest of it didn’t exist! :mad: ---

Does this thread include natural disasters? Here’s an example. I remember when Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines, and my friend’s roommate told me about his friend who had stationed there while in the military. This area had huge issues with homeless street children who would steal anything that wasn’t nailed down, and sometimes things that were, and he said that his friend told him, “I hope that volcano keeps erupting and all those people die.” :eek: But then again, I haven’t been there myself. ---

My point is that the whole reason he is in that thread is because he is constantly thinking about such things. Such a scenario would let him shoot people finally.
