# Down Syndrome statistics

When data like [this](http://www.nichd.nih.gov/publications/pubs/downsyndrome/down.htm) mention 1 in N chance a baby will have Down Syndrome, is that the number of babies actually born with this condition? Or does it include the number of pregnancies terminated when parents find out the fetus has this condition?
