[Media Player Classic](http://www.divx-digest.com/software/media_player_classic.html) plays Quicktime.

The official site appears to be down but I linked to a meta-mirror that links to multiple mirrors.

While installing QT for Windows, you should be able to select file type associations with the player. Uncheck all of them. This way you can right click the QT file and select “Open with:” and then browse to the QT exe file.

That should keep it from screwing with Media Player.

I have also always had problems with QT so I just don’t install it any more.

Whenever I open a QT movie, QT will turn itself back on in my Start Up folder.
