Oh my. So glam. She definitely has her bazooms smushed way down under that apron. I guess they could interfere with her kitchen chores.
Geez, Ms. Bunting is a jerk. If the writer had any subtlety, he would be setting Tom up for an insight into that fact so he could dump her and go after Mary.
I am looking forward to a scene where Bunting mouths off to the Russian immigrants so they can mention that the socialists killed all their families and are murdering hundreds of thousands of people. Or just slap the shit out of her.
And I am not sure if I am hoping, or dreading, Michael the Publisher Guy coming back with
[li]Amnesia []A Nazi membership card, or []Another wife
[/li]Regards,

Recalling Edith’s views on Rose carrying on with a gasp black man, maybe she’d find (b) to be fine.
Maybe he will come home and join up with Oswald Mosley.

He already has a wife. He went to Germany to divorce her, so that he could marry Edith.
Yeah, but that was unfair. Moseley is a Nice Guy and he IS the First Footman.
Yeah, it was a servant for crickiessake, and there’s no evidence that his ex-master wanted to make a big deal out of it. The police could write it off as a accident, there’s no way they’d have that kind of police manpower to spend on it. This is not “CSI-Downton”. :dubious:
Perhaps they had already been looking into Green’s life because of other crimes. Let’s face it, I doubt Anna was the first women he raped. The police may well have been keeping on eye on him wondering if they had a potential Jack the Ripper in the making. I wouldn’t put it past the writers for this entire did Bates or did Bates not kill him to end up being a complete red herring and have it that Green was killed by some completely unknown to the Downton staff, husband, brother or father of one of Green’s victims.
It might be that Bates is a suspect and he has a previous record so they are out to get him. But even if that’s true, what could be gained by watching the house? Green is dead. What could his murderer want now that is back at the house?
One of the other victims could have been a servant or a relative of the servant in the house.
And what could be found out now by watching the house?
:smack:
Maybe he gets amnesia, comes back, reconciles with his wife, and then meets Edith and has a revelation of Who He Truly Loves. And it’s Eva Braun.

I figured this whole thing was a setup to cause trouble between Anna and Bates - he finds the hidden birth control, and doesn’t believe the convoluted story of her having to buy it for Mary to get her freak on and then has to hide it for Mary afterwards. He assumes she’s been using it on the sly.
Wasn’t Mary in London the day of the murder - wasn’t it the same day she had lunch with Lord Gillingham to ask him to fire Green? Does anyone remember if she took Anna with her? Carson and Mrs. Hughes seemed sure that she MUST have been home at Downton that day, but was she?
Maybe Mary did it!
(I honestly can’t remember and can’t try to find a video of that episode at work)
If the murderer is connected to the house (which is a very good guess for a police officer to make, most people who are murdered are murdered by people they know) quite a lot. Also, Green could have been involved in a lot of other things or the police believe his murder is connected to something else that involves the house. They may well believe Green was murdered to cover up some sort of crime or scandal involving his former employers (I can’t remember if Green had been sacked at the time of death). They may even believe the former employer is as suspect.
My hope is that Gillingham is perhaps under investigation for something else that Green’s murder is being connected to and that’s why the house was being watched. Otherwise… it’s beyond silly.
Yeah, maybe that’s it. It would make no sense to be watching the place where Green lived. But if TONY is the one they’re watching/investigating. Maybe he has a secret Dark Life. Hmmm… Now that Mary has tried to dump him, and he got kind of cranky about it, maybe he will morph into Mr. Hyde or something and … I dunno, do something really bad.
On another board, someone called it “Law & Order: Special Valet Unit” and I can’t stop giggling at it.
Not a bad theory. I could see Fellowes trying to pull that off.
Thanks. I just dribbled tea down my front.
