Downton Abbey S6 - spoiler-free until broadcast in the U.S.

Cora was shown to be a pretty lousy tour guide, if you remember. She, like Edith and Mary, knew next to nothing about the stuff in the house they love so much. It was even hinted that Mr. Molesley knew more than Cora did.

Richard is hired by the Bateses the next time they need someone murdered.

Branson becomes Nucky’s new Irish contact.

It would totally work.

I once had a dream where Phryne Fisher showed up as a houseguest at Downton Abbey.

No, we don’t need to see the Crawleys loose their fortune yet again.

Perhaps the twist will be that Robert pulls out of the market right before the big crash, so that he’s sitting on a big fortune while other nobles are going broke.

I don’t think the Crawleys have any significant amount of money in the market anymore, though. Matthew uses his Reggie Swire lotto money to consolidate and modernize the estate properties so that they’d be more efficient and pay a bigger return. Maybe it’s never pointed out in particular, but it seems like Robert was forced to learn the lesson that he didn’t have a head for investing.

“There’s that chap in America, Charles Ponzi, who offers an OMG XBOX HUEG return after 90 days!”

Perhaps it can be set in the Roaring 20s in America, and the main focus would be Rose and whatever dimwit thing she is up to, and the rest of the Crawleys come visit. Then that could explain the absence of any actor who hadn’t signed on.

True, but she knew slightly more than either Edith or Mary…plus her delivery was much more convincing.
