Did I ever tell the story about when 2 coyotes came up on him?
I was in the Old Jeep, and I had Dixie, seriously pregnant on my lap, heater and music going. Dox was outside, and I look in the mirror and see 2 coyotes circling around him…
I chuck Dix on the passenger seat and bail out and start shouting at the Coyotes
What does Dox do? Go after them… I took off after all of them, and Levi’s don’t fit like they used to.
The moral of this story is Always Carry and invest in a good Belt!

Late update for a while: His ear is stiff and swollen, but his neck is okay. Alert, but not happy. Not in Death Spirals, I think he’s gonna pull through. Gonna get another Benydryl down his neck soon.

I’ve been reading~forget the Benadryl, it doesn’t help and the dosage may make him too sleepy, if it is a human Benadryl. Work on keeping him hydrated, do everything to keep him drinking water.

He is alert and responsive, but unhappy. Positive signs in my book. Alive enough to know he is in the shit.
I’ve got a more positive outlook now. But I kept drinkin’ beer. And that snake is dead as fuck.

After watching all this go down, the snake striking twice, I thought Doxie was dead as shit. I’m starting to think he may pull this as well. Unbelievable. This dog.
Another Doxie story: Coyotes got into the yard, one had Trixie and all the other dogs (except Dixie, who was smart enough to stay inside) came running for the back door. Not Doxie. He rushed the coyotes and chased them away, saving Trixie and Ted (both kinda fucked up, but alive) and came back all fucked up himself, but I assure you all, he saved Trixie and probably Ted as well.

He is swollen up some, looks like Dixie did when she got bit/stung by whatever. But he’s somewhat alert and responsive. I have hope and optimism that he’s gonna pull through. This is Doxie we are talking about. Indestructable.

I can hear him drinking water, and breathing. He’s a good dog. The rest of the crew are outside chasing rabbits out of the yard. He always eschewed the early morning hub-bub and waits till the second running to go out. We’ll see if he’s up to it… probably not.
