I just listened to Dr. Hook/Shell Silverstein’s great song, ‘Cover of the Rolling Stone’ and I wondered… did they actually ever get on the cover of Rolling Stone? ---

Thanks. Somehow Google just kept taking me to pages that showed their lyrics… I mean, you type in things like “Dr. Hook Rolling Stone” and… well… you can see how that would do it. ---

As a publicity stunt they all went to the office of RS and purchased five copies apiece. It made the evening news in Fresno, California. I will always remember that story as an example of “a slow news day.”
