Observation: in side comments he has made about / to me in other threads, he has commented on my “need to control a thread” when what I am really doing is pointing out a bad posting style. With his “I am the alpha and omega of this thread” comment, it seems clear he aspires to “owning” threads and is projecting that onto me. That also explains his “I set the rules and judge whether other posters have succeeded in their arguments” tone. **drad dog** , you are still being That Guy™. Stop it. No one owns threads, and no one is the last word in a discussion. ---

Funny thing is, I had never heard of him and hadn’t seen this thread when I made the mistake of engaging with him, and man was I ever sorry. It was in the thread about different musical keys having different feels to them, and he was a condescending fucktwat and said something to the effect of how I would never have a career in music. And yes, it is hard to talk with anyone who says “Art Type X was better before” - it is no different that a Human saying “Everything has been figured out.” I do not support this silly arrogance. Stay humble, remember the High School Rule (Humans are programmed based on the music they hear in their teens - including each of us, so we have built-in biases), and pay attention to what it out there. Final thought: Evolution, as in the process Darwin documented, is NOT always about organisms getting “better” relative to what came before them. Darwin documents “Descent with Modification” - i.e., as the environment changes, organisms that can survive do so and then further evolve to adapt to that new setting. That’s what music does - it adapts to its environment. But there is always music that survives. You may prefer a musical equivalent to a lush tropical setting with colorful birds vs. a frozen tundra, but both support life. So it goes with music. **drad dog** - you are still being That Guy, and this is clearly getting to be a long thread. Can you please think about how you seem to make every thread you post in about you and some position you have decided is what everyone should be talking about when NO ONE seems to agree with you? ---
