# dragonball/dbz question

which episode of which series is it when goku and piccolo go to get thier drivers license? and has that episode been released domestically?

Hm. It’s Dragonball Z. During the Trunks Mini-saga - bridging the gap between Garlic Jr. and the Androids, if memory serves. On the uncut VHS tapes, it’s the last of the three Trunks-face tapes. [The tapes whose sides combine to form an image of Trunks’s face.]

According to various online episode guides, it’s episode 125, “A Driver’s License? ? ? Goku’s New Ordeal…” I’d call it the fourth episode of the Android Saga, since I lump the introduction of Trunks in there.

I’ve never watched **Dragonball/DBZ,** so forgive the naivety of this question:

_Why would anyone write a half-hour cartoon episode about GETTING A DRIVER’S LICENSE???_

They usually spend time battling enemies that can easily blow up planets, so I guess the writers felt like a change for one episode.

Because it was hilariously funny. You have these absurdly powerful martial artists with planet cracking abilities and the reflexes of minor gods, and they just have a ridiculously difficult time mastering the simple art of driving.

I think sometimes folks forget DBZ is an action-_comedy_.
