Drama improv?

You’d be hard pressed to find any work of filmed or televised improv that didn’t extensively edit their content. Whose Line is it, Anyway? would do at least one show a series that was made up entirely of bits they’d edited out of other shows, and Christopher Guest movies frequently include extensive deleted scenes on the DVD release.

Comedic improv has a sort of fail-safe built into it. If the actors do well, it’s funny and an impressive exhibition of talent. If the actors screw up, it can still be funny. Dramatic improv can’t fall back on that.
