I think the only thing keeping me going is Nathan Fillion and his story arc (and secret character history).
Everyone else? His partner is shrill and annoying. NewMama is cloyingly unsympathetic. MilitaryWife is hot but horrible and hubby is dull as dirt. Ditto the Two Brothers. Dylan Baker is interesting but not long for this world I suspect (why else would one of the only two “name” drivers not be included in the opening credits?), and daugther is a Lohan-wannabe.
And the whole Shadow Conspiracy booga-booga is warmed over implausability from Fincher’s The Game. And after 3 hours, the drive-fast-vroom-vroom-shoulder-speeding has already gotten really boring.
But I like Fillion, so I may give it a few more chances just to see where he goes in all this.
Especially since we’ve already established that it doesn’t matter if you’re first! Just don’t be last! All this pumped-up-high-adrenoline-tire-screeching is boring because the stakes aren’t really that high. In most cases, the drivers know at least they’re not last, so all the “action” seems like stupid posturing and time filler.
Are you serious? You think she’s hot?? I think she’s disturbing to look at. She looks like a plastic doll that has been squeezed funny or something. Like her face is about to cave in or her head is about to fold in half or something. I can’t think of a single attractive thing about her, physically.
Eye candy is slim pickins on the show, and she has a nice enough body, though her face is unattractive (as is her inability to act). “Hot” is definitely relative (and a bit standard-lowering) in this case, I’ll admit…
That’s just…weird. I watch the traffic announcements every morning while I get ready for work, and it’s always “the 101” or “the 202” or “the ramp onto the 17” or “traffic’s backed up on the 10” something, and I’ve lived here for 20-some years myself. I can’t recall any other way. And doing a quick google search on references, it’s pretty evenly matched in Arizona, so I’m certain I MUST have heard the other way many, many times, just as I figure you’ve heard “the” and never registered it. Like I said, weird.
