# Drive to Europe?

Is it possible to drive from North America to Europe? That is, is there ferry service between Labrador and Greenland, Greenland and Iceland, and Iceland and Scotland that would allow a person to drive/ferry his way across the Atlantic?

Iceland to mainland Europe, with connections to Scotland: [Yes](http://www.smyril-line.fo).
Haven’t been able to find anything on the other two routes, but my guess is no.

You **can** always [drive the other way](http://abcnews.go.com/sections/primetime/DailyNews/beringstraits_021031.html), via the Bering Strait, at certain times of the year. If you really had to.

It is possible, but you would have to transport your vehicle across the pond via a container (like you’re moving) or likewise, if you buy your Benz or Porsche in Germany and bring it back to N.A.
As a side, it’s pretty common for Europeans to bring their motorbikes over here. Every summer, I see at least a couple groups of Germans on their bikes touring. Usually they drive up to Alaska or go down to the mountain parks (Jasper, Banff). Once I rode back home with a group (I was on my bike heading home from Edmonton, they were going to Alaska). Great guys (and 1 lady). They were having a blast.

There is no car (or passenger) ferry between Greenland and North America, or between Greenland and Europe. Furthermore, it is absolutely impossible to travel between West Greenland, South Greenland and East Greenland in any kind of wheeled vehicle. Greenland has no roads linking settlements (with one or two exceptions), and you can’t drive over the ice-cap.
You can however travel from Iceland to the Faroes, Scotland, Denmark and Norway on the Smyril Line ferries.

Bummer. I like ships, and I liked Europe when I went. I thought it would be cool to drive there, taking ferries across the Atlantic.
