I considered it, but there are a lot of other states too…
It should be noted that part of I-90 passes through Wyoming as well, so this could be handy. The I-90 stretch is mostly at a lot lower elevation than I-80.

Just wanted to add, welcome to Oregon. It’s great! (once you get here.)
And, when I drove here in June a couple of years ago, it was snowing in Wyoming. In JUNE. Aaaahhhhh!
Rigfht you are–apologies.
Toadspittle, ditto on the “Welcome to Oregon” sentiment.
The thing is, there’re actually two different Oregons, each with their own weather.
The Willamette Valley, where Shoshana apparently lives, is wet. They’ve been having some pretty crappy weather this year.
I live in Central Oregon (Bend). It’s a desert here. Normally we have cold and snowy winters… but not this year. It’s been depressingly mild. We’re predicted to get small amounts of snow and rain this next week, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Basically, we’re both right.
Got your snow! Got your snow!
Argh.
We had a few flakes earlier today- but that passed, and now it’s completely clear. They keep saying we’re going to get some snow, but I’m rather dubious at this point.
On the plus side, the mountain’s getting some new snow, so I’ll be able to do some snowboarding tomorrow.
Whoa. I grew up in the Hudson Valley (Kingston), our family is all from Penna, and I have dreamed of living in Portland. It’s like you’re living a new improved version of my life. Good going!
And good luck on the trip!
