Also, **Doors** , you might not have said anything, but I bet I still would have.
And you weren’t the one taken to task and falsely accused of being a liar, I was. I’m the one who got the implication of things that **TubaDiva** would like to promise me for my nasty ways.
I don’t think it’s your fault that this thread is still open. I think it’s **TubaDiva’s** fault that this thread is still open. If she’d apologized for calling me a liar as soon as it was proven that the accusation was false, and just dropped the schtick of ‘more cool stuff is coming but we can’t tell you what’, I think this thread would be done and over.

If the relationship of the admins and members is this strained, that doesn’t give us guests an incentive to join. Is this new, or has it always been this way?

I’d guess that wreckie is a Memorex-quality copy of our departed drmark, though I doubt the mods will confirm such.

I don’t think it is, actually. We only see the alleged “strain” during moments of extreme conflict, when typically 90+% of the hostility is clearly from an obnoxious user.
TubaDiva has crossed a line or two, but not often and never completely out of the blue. There was an unfortunate incident a while back, but details are lacking because discussion was soundly discouraged (not too shockingly, as there may have been liability issues). Overall, I’d say the moderation here has been far less capricious and arbitrary than other boards I’ve frequented.
In this particular case, drmark clearly deserved what he got. He’s probably been told all his life that he’s the smartest guy in the room, but made the mistake of continuing to believe it when he got _here_, a place where smart people openly compete. Sarcasm will almost always work around here but condescension almost never does. He could not or would not adapt, so for that he gets a bit of my pity and lot of my scorn.

That’s odd my post just evaporated.
The relations aren’t that bad, just a few incidents here and there.
It should be expected. Besides one user’s Troll can be another user’s insightful Poster.
The job of the Mods and Admins can be quite thankless.

In the Pit, 1-2 per month on average. On the rest of the board, no. Think of this as the escape valve in a steam system.

Well, technically the Pit is the escape valve holding area. The pressure isn’t really released until until a vicious Pitting has been fleshed out. Once the cork pops we all go back to Pitting Bush. 😃

I like to look at it this way: what other message board allows you to rip the moderators and admins a new one as frequently as you want over whatever ruling or arbitrary decision or inappropriate use of THA MAN powers you deem inappropriate? No other board I’ve visited, and after being locked out by my work’s filtering system last year, I looked around quite a bit.
Now, since nobody likes admitting to being wrong, _EVER_, it takes time sometimes, but this group tends to pound on things til long after most horses would be a shelf full of Elmer’s paste. All it takes is a simple “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that,” and the whole thing goes away. And we’re on to the next idiotic arbitrary decision they make. 😃

I realize this. And I’m ashamed about it. It’s my cross to bear this week, I guess. I shall work harder to come up with something.
I beg forgiveness for letting everyone down. I have a 20,000 MB XL spreadsheet that will prove **DuhMark2000** and **Asscheese** are not only sleeping together, but also that they’re both clinically insane as diagnosed by a pHD psychologist, and being treated by his douchebag lover.
I’ve only gotten to the 14th cell, though, so it may be awhile. But I promise it’s going to be posted soon!
