You’re all right, this board will not collapse. But you will lose diversity. Perhaps drmark is a bad example for defended but the points still remain the same. The majority of the mouthy fucks here are so far left Howard Dean looks like Rush Limbaugh. And when they heckle the moderate or conservatives not many take the heat for long. Hell Manny couldn’t even take it. Bricket et al are holding on. But soon they will resign to never having anyone agree with them and leave themselves.
The board will survive sure, as a complete circle jerk where a conservative, or intolerant person, or non cat lover does something you all jump on the person that said/did something and pat yourselves on the back planting that zinger of an insult in the thread.
Notice I said the majority of the mouthy fucks, it may not be the “true” majority but it’s the majority that people are seeing. If you do not conform you are a jerk, you may stay in bounds as to not get banned but you have a good chance of saying fuck it and going out by mod suicide because your discussions will always be a virtual pile on.
This board is a nice past time, I love GQ, where for the most part the political leanings do not come into play (Though many of the mouthy fucks find a way to inject a zinger in that as well on occassion) It is truely the part of this board that fights ignorance. The rest of the board you can still find on newsgroups, a place where people go to find someone to fight with. And fuck that’s free.
I find a mental image of many posters here as the kid who got picked last for dodgeball, the snot nosed little twerp who in my day we would say “Your mouth is getting to big for your muzzle”
I do not mean that as an insult, you found your way in this world, I think most of you are successful and hell most of you are very intelligent. I am just thankful your kind will not anytime soon decide how my life will be governed.
I also get this odd little thought everytime I see some of your arguments, that you’re trolling. Yes trolling for who can get the most liberal comment in. And that IRL you do not behave the way you type. And that is not a sneaking suspicion, I have found evidence of this. But that’s neither here nor there, it’s just one of those things.
I love how the insults come on, “your dumb” “You cannot comprehend” you know the interesting things people say to try to invalidate someone elses opinion. Interesting that you all know so much more than established scientists, you know what, my opinion even if expressed poorly is no worse than your opinion even if you use big words. It doesn’t change the facts.
And that goes the whole spectrum of this board and pretty much is the way things are run. A top tier of shitheels, make sure to keep the rest of the herd fenced in. Yeah the board will survive, but it will be a piss poor board with a one track mind. Enjoy it.

The most recently banned “genius’s” style was to take a shit on the sidewalk and watch while other people clean it up. He shat on the sidewalk for the pure pleasure of watching other people clean it up all the while claiming his shit doesn’t stink.

Sorry, I’m lactose intolerant. It’ll have to be cash. Good terms, too. If the SDMB is still around in a year, you pay for my subscription. If it’s not, I pay you $75. You can get my email adress from my profile. I don’t intend to change it any time soon, so it should still be good when the board dies off. C’mon, man. **Abbie** , calm down. Your perception is a little off. In this thread, bashing \*\*DrMark \*\* and \*\*Aeschines \*\* you had a moderate (me) and a righty (Duffer). We are both tolerated quite well. \*\*Bricker \*\* as you pointed out is respected on the board.
You are right though, the board could use some more intelligent Righties and moderates just for Balance but drmark was just a jerk and Aeschines, I have no idea what his politics are, he is also arrogant quite often.

I was officially warned early in 2001 when I inserted a left leaning zinger in GQ, I claim ignorance then, but I got better. And the warning was not from \*\*manny \*\* AFAICR.
I learned my lesson, you have only learned to selectively ignore evidence contrary to your bias, part of the TAS\* I have observed on some conservatives.
Oh, and are you so ignorant that you don’t know that \*\*Aeschines \*\* hates Bush and many Conservative causes?
