# Drug Screening question

My boyfriend just got a new job, and they are going to do a drug test. All rather typical and he hasn’t smoked pot in months. However, we’ve been spending time at a friends place where people are constantly smoking…and we’re there for a few hours whenever we hang out.

Its not every day, but its been a few times this month. Even though he didn’t smoking anything, could it still be in his system just by it being in the air?

I might be paranoid, but this job is important and I don’t want to take any chances. Am I being silly, or should he be drinking cranberry juice just to be on the safe side?

What kind of test is he going to take? Different kinds of tests pick up different things. If it’s your standard urine test, he should be good. I had to take a pee test to work here and I hadn’t smoked in months, but I’m around it CONSTANTLY - and I passed.

However, if they’re doing something like a blood test or a hair test, it’ll show up, most likely; at least, in my experience. You can’t flush your blood or hair like you can your urine, and your hair has essentially a record of your drug use for as long as that hair has been in existence (since you had your last hair cut).

However, simply being around it, I highly doubt, unless you were around such an extreme concentration that you might as well have been smoking it.

I am not a doctor, FYI - just the daughter of potheads.
