Dubya "fans", go see this quick! URGENT!

If you use the Webdings font and type NYC, you get an eye, a heart, and a city skyline. This may be intentional - I believe Wingdings has been around longer than Webdings, so the designers of the latter font may have deliberately encoded an “I love New York” message as a riff off of the conspiracy theories about the Wingdings NYC story.

I used to teach MS Word, and I still can’t figure out what you guys mean by “dictionary”. There’s spell check, and there’s the thesaurus, but where is this dictionary?

googlebombing isn’t restricted to just one end of the political spectrum. While the #1 result for “failure” is George W. Bush’s whitehouse page, the #3 result is Michael Moore’s web page.

Jimmy Carter’s whitehouse page is #12.

I have this feature on my version of Word at work, although I don’t recall what specific version it is. You can highlight a word, right click, and select ‘look up’ for the dictionary feature.

This is rapidly heading into MPSIMS.

So I’m just helping it out.

In Word XP, there’s a file at …Application Data\Microsoft\Proof\CUSTOM.DIC…

I wonder what on earth that file extension means? Oh, wait, there’s a clue when I press F7: ‘Not in dictionary’…‘Dictionary language’…‘Add to Dictionary’… :stuck_out_tongue:

That still doesn’t explain how to get this “dictionary” to display text within the Word program.
