I really hope for your sake that you’re actually 14 and still have time to develop a personality that doesn’t make everyone want to punch you. Allow me to resummarize your chain of events more concisely with an analogy: 1. You showed up at a large gathering for the first time dressed as Erkel and louding shouted “DID I DO THAT???” every time there was the slightest lull in the conversation. 2. A few people took you aside and told you you were annoying the shit out of everybody. 3. You took off the costume and spoke in a normal tone of voice for a while. Then an hour later, you put it back on and resuming yelling “DID I DO THAT???” in an even louder and more nasally voice. That’s all that happened. You can put this on other people all you want, but this isn’t a matter of principle or identity or individuality, it’s just a matter of not being an annoying dick on purpose. Whether you’re doing it sincerely or to be a troll, the effect is the same: everyone hates you and thinks you’re stupid. Because of how and what you post. Live with it. ---

So, you went back to posting in your old way because typing proper English made you too mature to enjoy cartoons? That’s the most ridiculous reason I’ve ever heard. There are tons of mature Dopers who enjoy cartoons and post about their favorite ones in Cafe Society. And who use proper spelling and grammar, too. In fact, there are tons of younger kids who recognize that it’s important to type properly. Abandoning the use of proper English in favor of watching a cartoon show seems pretty immature to me. There are some stupid fucking rules about language use in the Pit. You can spew hate speech and all other manner of vile things, but you can’t tell someone ‘‘fuck you’’ or call someone a cunt. I think, if you want to be heard, you should consider being a little more conformist. It’s difficult for me to make out what you are saying much of the time. I’m not a prescriptivist when comes to language, but to me, when there’s a breakdown in communication, all bets are off. While I’m here I’ll add that your rape jokes in your woman’s attraction thread were pretty damned rude. Actually one of your responses could have been interpreted as a threat (not that I think you are seriously dangerous or anything, but even joking threats against other members are way afoul of the rules here.) You were intentionally trying to offend people and that was distasteful. I know you feel like you must stand for something, but is your god-given right to make rape jokes really the thing you want to stand for? ---
