# Duffy Stroud (?sp.) - Child Preacher/Screecher

About ten, maybe fifteen, years ago there was a little boy in the American south who made headlines by taunting his classmates as they went to school and as they played - “You’re all sinners and are going to Hell” he’d cry as he shook his Bible at them. I believe his name was Duffy Stroud and he was a mere boy. Perhaps nine or ten years old.
Duffy did not limit himself to occassional harangues. He did it incessantly - before, during and after school. I recall footage on CNN showing him in the playground scowling and screaming at his terrified classmates - “Repent, you sinners!” The crazed look on his face was genuinely unsettling. A child should _not_ look like that.
Eventually, the other parents sought a cease and desist order. Duffy’s folks invoked the Bill of Rights and argued for his freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
Does anyone remember this? What happened to Duffy? Is he now living in LA, doing crack?

Yes, I _do_ remember him. And, as a matter of fact, I, too, was wondering what became of him.

There is another thread going on about this and somebody came up with an article from the paper which says the family is into wrestling now.

Yes, because **FriarTed** resurrected both dead threads instead of just one (or preferably, starting a new one and linking to the two old ones).
Hopefully, a mod will be by to merge them or lock one down.
In lieue of rewarding **FriarTed’s** handwaving, I suggest we not respond any more to this thread and use [the other resurrected thread on Duffy Strode.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=127648)
