I woke up Sunday morning looked at my cell phone and it had the “usual” time, 6:30am. I then looked at the Tivo, and it’s time was different: 7:30am. Baffled, I then went to my computer: 8:30am. I decided that Sunday wasn’t for me so I went back to bed. (Seriously, I had three “networked” clocks and they all had 3 different times. The cell was wrong, the Tivo was correct, and the computer apparently thought it was still on EST cause it jumped forward 2 hours, not just one.) ---

Years ago I and some friends founded an organization called “The Standard Time Society”. Our Manifesto: We are dedicated to committing terrorist acts until the powers that be decide that Daylight Savings Time just isn’t worth the bloodshed and carnage. Anyone who wants to join just has to decide they are a member. No rolls or records are kept. The only benefit of membership is that you can adopt any military rank you like, except for 4-star. Those are reserved to the 4 founding members. Also since it was my idea, I’m President-For-Life. It doesn’t matter what rank you choose, since you are not required nor expected to take orders from anyone, regardless of rank. The only requirement of membership is that you attribute any terrorist acts you might commit to the STS. Taking credit for others’ terrorist acts is also encouraged. When the Oklahoma bombing happened, I hopped in my car, drove a few miles, found a payphone, called the FBI, and took credit. We therefore likely have an FBI file on the STS, probably labeled CRANKS. ---

Twicks, Hon, your clock might’ve well been set like mine was: April usta be the DST clock set, now, it’s bumped up to March. Concrete exmaple would be that my computer, programmed for the old time set, has not automatically switched over, still reads an hour behind. On a concrete note, due to light level and work, I’m for it… gives me an extra hour of light to get things done outside, as is my job. ---

It’s so regular that most churches I know of tell you not to bother setting your clock until after morning service(s). At least for the spring forward: nobody seems to forget that they get an extra hour. ---
