Gangrene is nice, but why is a skewered corpse particularly nauseating (unless it is graphically prepared for barbecue)? An eviscerated corpse, that can be nauseating. Why sepulchres? Most sepulchres are simply neat, stone receptacles for sealed coffins. Spooky in context, but hardly conducive to losing one’s lunch. Politicians’ consciences might have been a good idea, but the words are too long with too many sibilants and nasals: there’s no punch; it slows down the momentum.
