I presume that none of the significant plot points shown in the trailer will actually be in the movie? That this is just another Jim Carrey “Gotcha!”? If so, then this doesn’t really tell you much about the possible quality (err, whatever _D&D_ movies have) of the film. ---

I don’t know what you mean by this. Do you have an example of another Jim Carrey “Gotcha!”? This all seems like content that will be in the movie, I just hope they saved some good jokes for the movie. ---

Oh. My. God. So I’m sitting at coffee hour after the church service today talking to this nice old lady who teaches my kids Sunday school class once a month in our small church (she has them do art paintings, usually). I’ve known her for about a year or so and I had some vague notion that she used to some theater or something years ago before she retired. While sitting with her, another woman walked up and introduced someone to us, referring to my companion as “our Hollywood star.” My friend hushed her. A while later I was talking to another guy and her name came up again, and he said “Have you seen her in that new Dumb and Dumber trailer?” “Huh? I saw the trailer, is she an extra or something?” “No, she’s the lady in the bed at the end!” /jaw drops. Turns out my church friend – my kids’ Sunday school teacher - is that dirty old lady in the trailer. Not only that, I looked her up on IMDB and 40-50 years ago she appeared in several episodes of _Twilight Zone_ and other shows, including a 5 year starring role on the TV show _Dr. Kildare_. She’s been in movies with John Wayne and Sydney Poitier and Richard Chamberlain! And now she has had Jim Carey’s hand up her dusty hoo-ha. Where’s the gobsmacked smiley when you need it? ---

It looked dumb. But not like Dumb and Dumber dumb, but dumb. Like really dumb. Like terrible dumb. That shitty movie starring Tom Green dumb.
