Nitpicking, but why is Picasso on the list? He was from Spain. He wouldn’t have traveled to Paris by boat of plane. Nor was he part of the post-war “Lost Generation” - Picasso was born in 1881 and had been residing in Paris for over a decade when the war began. ---

Harpo is alright. He is no more convinced of his inerrancy than any of us here. He’s never starred in his own version of The Dio Show. He doesn’t do Czarcasm-style JAQing-off. He isn’t a habitual obfuscator and pettifogger like Hentor the Barbarian. He doesn’t want to throw stuff in the quarry. He isn’t one bad day away from mass murder. I don’t know if I would say I like him, because I don’t interact with him much, but Harpo isn’t one of the board’s aggressive and insistent assholes. ---

Oh, look, our favorite wonder noob [just started his second-ever thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=779230), and has already twice told everyone how they must behave when responding to His Noob Highness, and earned himself another mod note. To answer the obvious question, I don’t have him on “ignore” because I don’t want to miss all the entertainment that’s sure to come, and observational gems like “the Democrats are borderline communists” which is what we get when our hero ventures from the literary world into the political realm. I suppose “ignore” may be necessary if it eventually gets boring, assuming he lasts that long. ---

in the interest of supporting the war on ignorance (and recognizing the risk associated with feeding the troll), i will submit that Hawaii is not the “Pearl of the Pacific,” nor do residents of Honolulu go by “Honolulans.”. The word Chinaman is only used in reference to the lump of land off situated off the northeast coast of Oahu, and for the life of me, I can’t imagine any resident of Hawaii spending a significant amount if time at the Polynesian Cultural Center, which is theme park founded and run by the LDS church that caters to tourists. When you live there, which I have, you are much more apt to experience the various cultures by living, working, shopping and playing among them, not going to a scripted stage presentation. ---

I can confirm that in my 2-1/2 years living in Honolulu, not once did I encounter the term “Honolulan.” More evidence the dipshit OP is just a troll who does not live in Hawaii.
