I agree, it’s super rude. I don’t mind people saying “Here is the answer, and if you google it, there’s more info”. I also think sometimes people could google first, and I try to do so before I ask a question, but you do get different answers here.

There are people on here who act like it’s a personal imposition for someone to ask a dumb or easily-Google-answered question, like somehow they’ve gotten it into their heads that they have to read and answer every thread topic and now their time is being wasted. Why not just click on to something else?

Asking a question here instead of Googling is also possibly a bit disingenuous. Does the asker really want to know the answer, or do they want to know what people THINK the answer is?

Like suppose I want to know exactly how the airbags in my car deploy. They are behind various trim pieces: do they burst through, shattering them, does a panel swing away, or what? I asked my SO if he knew this the other day, as I was driving and could not look it up and his explanation seemed to ignore some constraints of physical space, then he waved my further queries away as dumb and a refusal to accept what he thought was the obvious explanation. He turned out to be wrong upon actual research, of course. 😛
Now I am curious to know what other people think happens when their airbags deploy, so maybe I would just ask what happens because asking what they THINK happens would prime them with doubt in their personal theories.

As much as I enjoy giving sarcastic answers and ridiculing people for their stupid questions, I’d rather not be bothered.

If you’re to stupid to use google then you’re wasting air a useful person could be breathing. I hope the obvious exceptions don’t need mentioning (little kids, etc…)

_Too_ stupid.

:smack:
In my defense, I wasn’t asking a question. Please allow me the dignity of my own stupidity.

I think you meant “If you have the genetic defect which makes some humans wrongly perceive a soapy flavor in cilantro that non-defective humans don’t.”

I’m sorry you’re apparently defective. The good news is that leaves more delicious cilantro for the rest of us normal folks. 🙂
Seriously, it’s like the stinky asparagus pee. Some folks have it, some don’t. And since like most genetic variations, it runs in families, most folks never know the other kind of people even exist until they grow up and start living with non-relatives.
