Dumb questions you have about other nations/cultures.

Further to this query I’m looking at a current textbook meant for secondary school kids aged about 12/13 to 15/16. The section headings, each of which contain a few chapters are:

Our Roots In Ancient Civilisation 1: Ancient Ireland
Our Roots In Ancient Civilisation 2: Ancient Rome
(This includes. for some reason, a section on medieval and renaissance history.)

Changes In The European View Of The World: Exploration
Religious Change: Reformation
Changes In Land Ownership: Plantation In Ireland
Political Change: Revolution Movements
(This includes the American Revolution, the French Revolution, the 1798 Irish Rising, and further chapters on social change in the 19th C. and the Great Famine.)

Political Developments In Ireland in the 20th Century
Northern Ireland: 1920-1985
Social Change In 20th Century Ireland
International Relations In The 20th Century

It depends on which Punjab you’re talking about. The old province of Punjab was split between India and Pakistan during the partition. Most Sikhs settled in the Indian state of Punjab, where they are a majority (approx 66%) of the population. You are correct that Sikhs are only a small minority in the Pakistani province of Punjab.

Interesting. Thanks for the update.
