The Beatles were much beloved, but they wrote some dopey shit, much of it on the **White Album** and **Yellow Submarine**. Can anybody defend the brilliance of “Why Don’t We Do It In the Road”? How about “Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey”? Drugs kill brain cells, that’s my take-away. ---

I see that nobody has mentioned this one: [Henry the VIII I Am - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zZVUjA9jsQ) or this one: [Ahab the Arab - Ray Stevens - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLB15kBvn_c) I wouldn’t really call most of what has been listed as ‘dumb’ songs; they would written for the express purposes of being fun and making people grin; in that most of them have been excellent songs. I define a dumb song as something that was written to be a ‘serious’ song that simply…was lousy. The Beatles recordning mentioned above would qualify. But these are just _fun._ IMHO as always. YMMV. ---
