When they were first talking about how to reduce rail deaths after a small cluster of level crossing incidents, my Dad and I were watching the news together. The reporter said there were calls for the penalty for disregarding crossing lights and barriers to be made harsher. I looked at Dad and said “What, harsher than… death?”
This is cute, and a bit of fun. I’m not sure how effective it will be. Of course, I did just read statistics that some random internet person posted (so you know they’re legit) that said of the 180ish people who die by train each year in Melbourne, 150ish of them are suicides. This 3 minute long, how expensive? advertisement is aimed at saving 30 people a year who are already oblivious to lights, barriers, warning signs, alarm bells and fucking huge trains bearing down on them. But sure, maybe singing, dancing cartoons will do what reality hasn’t managed.

I think the 3 minute version is only for the web - heard it on the radio today as an ad and it was only 2 verses, prob a 30/45sec spot. Very catchy though.
