Dumbest religious persecution ever

Now we’re going to hear about how the godless liberals drove him out of his job.

Yeah, them damn godless Yankee librul Democrats

Again, let’s shout out some love for the 40% of the congregation that left in protest of this bonehead’s actions.

Definitely, and it is extended also to those conservative Republicans who also walked out. Good for them.

No, if a bolt of lightning had come out of the sky on a bright blue day and ZOT Mr. Chandler on the spot, then we’d be talking about divine intervention at work…

Forty members, not forty percent. I think the congregation was around four hundred before the brouhaha.

Several links on this page say the church had 100 members before the 9 were ejected.

Which ones? The only one I saw that said how big the church was, (and, I admit, I didn’t check all of them) was the one I posted. According to that,

Of course, I like your percentage better, but now I’m curious exactly how many people attend this church.

The Atlanta paper described it as a 100-member church yesterday. Also, there’s this article from the Asheville Citizen-Times:

From Squink’s link.

It looks like we have yet another case of poor journalism. A 400 member AND a 100 member cite are from the same paper.

One hundred members does sound more plausible for a small town church, too. Looks like my cite was wrong. Cool! 40% of the congregation calling the pastor on his bullshit is much better than 10%
