All right. Can I nominate Fatboy Slim or are those even supposed to be lyrics? These songs were played for a dance class I took, and they were great to dance to. And while dancing to them I never tried to figure out the words. But… Right about now, the funk soul brotha or Walk without rhythm won’t attract the worm These seem so random they might as well be in the bulbous-bouffant-macadamia categorie, i.e., words repeated just because of the way the words sound. ---

A lot of those mentioned are stupid, painfully so even, but they’re also kind of expected to be. Soulja Boy is a ringtone rapper, Fatboy Slim is a dj, etc. System of a Down, however, has legions of fans who think their words have meaning on a deeper level. And so, I present to the Dope, System of a Down’s [Lonely Day](http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=3530822107858560513), which includes such illuminating verse as: “Such a lonely day / Should be banned / It’s a day that I can’t stand.” “The most loneliest day of my life.” “Such a lonely day / Shouldn’t exist / It’s a day that I’ll never miss.” Perhaps worst of all, it was nominated for a Grammy. Heaven help us. ---

**Hilarity N. Suze** - “walk without rhythm won’t attract the worm” is a _Dune_ reference- the giant sandworms are attracted by rhythmic steps on the sand. I love _Kids_ by MGMT but “a family of trees wanted, to be haunted” is just daft. ---
